Photorejuvenation, often known as a photofacial, is a quick and painless skin treatment that uses high-intensity broadband light pulses to successfully treat skin discolouration and photoaging at the cellular level.
photo aging is referred to aging of the neck, face, ears, and hands. With the help of photo rejuvenation treatment, skin conditions and wrinkles are treated using intense pulsed light or a chemical or thermal method. In this process, new cells are created to induce wounds in your skin. It is a kind of skin treatment in which specific wavelength of infrared light energy and natural red is used for restoring normal and healthy skin. Photo rejuvenation is a painless, gentle, non-abrasive, non-invasive and safe treatment. You will be able to see noticeable changes after just the first treatment. Your skin will look smooth, hydrated and glow with natural radiance. With every session, you will see improvement in your skin. After few weeks of sessions and treatments, you will see effective results.
Advantages of Photo Rejuvenation:
- Using broad-spectrum light technology, photorejuvenation treats sun-damaged skin as well as other common skin issues.
- IPL and LED technology penetrates deep into the skin to activate dormant cells and increase collagen formation.
- Treatments are noninvasive, have little adverse effects, and do not need any downtime.
- Acne, rosacea, and hyperpigmentation have all been demonstrated to respond well to photorejuvenation.
- Almost any portion of the body can be benefitted from photorejuvenation therapy.
How it Works?
A broad spectrum of light is transmitted through a small, smooth, transparent hand piece which is gently placed over the skin. Cut-off filters in the hand piece change the wavelength range allowing it to be optimized for different applications and skin types. The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by either the blood when treating vascular lesions or the melanin when treating pigmented lesions damaging them. The body’s natural processes then remove the injured tissue giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance.
Photofacial often consist of full-face treatment or treatment of isolated body areas like the hands or chest. The treatment regimen typically consists of:
- Four to six treatments administered at three week intervals.
- Broad spectrum light in the visible and near infrared range, from 515 nm up to about 1200 nm.
As a sub-epidermal procedure, IPL Skin Treatments using Photorejuvenation produce a few side effects and requires little to no alteration in the patient’s normal routine.
